My favorite scents that every woman should try and add into their perfume collection...Just in time for the holidays.
I haven't always been a perfume kind of person. I just always felt really overwhelmed walking through department stores and having employees have me test a whole lotta of smells that just meshed by the time I managed to get out of the conversation and sales pitch. I thought body mists did the job. Fast forward a decade, I now have my go to perfumes and they have become staples in my day to day routine. I still use body mist, but I have realized that body mists are more of an enhancement rather than an all day lasting fragrance.
Mon Guerlain is my #1 choice. I tend to reach for this perfume the most. It's the perfect combo of sweet and floral. Fun fact: this scent was inspired by Angelina Jolie. They marked their fragrance as a tribute to a strong, free, and sensual femininity. I am not a perfume expert, but based on the research I did about the scent, Mon Guerlain has an oriental and woody smell. It has a blend of vanilla with the freshness of lavender, enhanced by the woody notes of sandalwood and patchouli.
Notes: Bergamot, Mandarine, Lavender, Sambac Jasmine, Vanilla Tincture, Tahitensis Vanilla, White Musk, Patchouli, and Sandalwood
Before discovering Mon Guerlin, Flowebomb was my go-to. Don't get me wrong, I still reach for this fragrance often. I even sometimes mix it with my body mist to enhance the sweetness. Flowerbomb is a floral fantasy. It is less sweet than Guerlin and has a light and airy freshness about it. The experts describe it as "A garden party in a bottle". The patchouli and vanilla scent is what sticks out the most for me . I like pairing Flowerbomb with the lotion for longer wear. They also have a great body oil that I also like using along side the perfume. If I wear the fragrance alone, I do have to reapply halfway through the day. I honestly don't mind because it smells so good.
Notes: Cattleya Orchid, Freesia, Centifolia Rose, Sambac Jasmine, India Osmanthus, Patchouli, Vanilla, Orange, Bergamot, and Patchouli
Dior Addict is my newbie. When I was looking for a new scent to add to my collection, this oldie but a goodie came up (Dior Addict was released in 2002 ). I usually wear this during a night out/evening hours. It's the perfect scent for a date night, girls night, whatever event night. This scent is amazing and I am happy to have found it. I also think this scent is more mature. I can almost say it's a happy medium between the two mentioned above. It has notes of Mandarin Leaf with Tunisian Orange Blossom. Dior Addict is intense and vibrant and as the day goes on, the smell will transition to a sweet and light scent.
Notes: Silk Tree Flower, Mandarin Leaf, Orange Blossom, Queen of the Night Flower, Bulgarian Rose, Bourbon Vanilla Absolute, Mysore Sandalwood, and Tonka Bean.
