Surprise!! I am pregnant!. I didn't think 2021 could get anymore eventful. At the end of August, beginning of September I started feeling "not like myself". I was sleeping 10+ hours at a time and still exhausted. I assumed it was my body still trying to adjust to my overnight shift. I got my period for August so pregnancy was the last thing on my mind; especially since I wasn't in the phase of my life where I was trying to get pregnant.

Fast forward to the September 15th, 2021, my period did not show. This was not too weird because typically if it doesn't come on the predicted day my app sets it usually comes the next day. Well the next day, it was still absent. I then thought maybe I'm so stressed with this new job that my body is rebelling.

My second dose of the Pfizer vaccine was due on September 30th, 2021. So after receiving the vaccine, I decided to buy a pregnancy test. At this point my period was late by 15 days.

I got home and went straight to the bathroom. I didn't even tell my husband that I had bought a test. I pee'd and left the stick behind while I started on dinner for that night. I didn't go back to check the stick until 20 minutes later because I got caught up in the kitchen. I ran back to the bathroom to find a positive pregnancy test. There are two lines extremely clear. I ran out of the bathroom with stick in hand screaming out "Nathan, Nathan..look. is this real". He ran out of the office and met me half way and I handed him the stick. He took a few seconds to register what he was looking at. I remember him saying, "oh my god, you're pregnant!"There was no misreading this, but me being skeptical, I decided to pee on the second stick in the box. Well, that too was a positive result. Still skeptical, we both took off to the urgent care down the street to get a blood test. Well, a few days later, that blood test was also positive.

September 30th, 2021 will always be a memorable day for me. All the emotions and chaos from that day flipped my world into an entire different direction. I officially became a mom-to-be. A title that I was always on the fence about having had arrived at my door. I am huge believer that everything happens for reason and this pregnancy would not have happened if it wasn't meant to happen. I became happy, excited, scared and worried all at the same time.

I plan on writing about my journey to and through mommyhood here at LivnigChiclyAverage. Can't wait for this adventure to unfold. I am sure this life changing event will help mold a different side of me that I can't wait to meet.

Thanks for coming by to catch up. What's new in your life lately? Leave me a message.
